About the work
You handle Tier 2 alerts that are passed up to you in a security operations center (SOC) that runs 24x7.
Your tasks
- Look into SIEM alerts passed up to you and decide if each one is real or a false alarm (true or false positive)
- Sort and rank alerts that come from endpoints, the network and user identities (triage)
- When an incident is real, pass it up with clear proof and a timeline of what happened
- Adjust detection rules so there are fewer noisy alerts and the alerts left are more useful
Pay and benefits
Pay: $95,000 – $120,000 per year
Benefits: If you join on W2, you get health care (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) with a company match, cover for life and short-term disability, a choice of FSA or HSA, paid time off and paid holidays. On C2C, these benefits do not apply.
